Helmet
Mandatory on all rides. Properly fitted, properly fastened, no exceptions.
Our safety rules define the behaviour we expect from members, in order to promote safe cycling and protect the reputation of the club, sponsors and sport.
Safety responsibility rests with each member, to protect fellow cyclists through responsible riding. Disregarding safety rules may result in a verbal reprimand, followed by disciplinary action and possible expulsion from the club.
If you see a dangerous rider, report them to leadership with specific incident details. We'd rather have an uncomfortable conversation than a preventable injury.
If it's not on the bike or on your body, you're not riding with us.
Mandatory on all rides. Properly fitted, properly fastened, no exceptions.
Recommended on every ride for grip, comfort and eye protection from grit and insects.
Required for any ride in low light or darkness — especially the night rides.
Increases your visibility for night-time and pre-dawn riding.
Compulsory. Carry contact and emergency information at all times.
Carry a charged phone in case of emergencies — yours or a fellow rider's.
Brakes, tyres, chain — check the day before. A mechanical at the back of the group affects everyone.
Train your skills with shorter rides before joining the bigger groups. We can help — just ask.
Safety rules cover the bike. The Code of Conduct covers everything else — how we treat each other and other road users.
